The
SOLO engine is quite interesting.
“The
output performance can be adjusted by the working gas pressure
between
40 and 130 bar in the range of 3 to 9 kW
(mechanical).”

Fact Sheet
(Note
the 3.25 fold pressure increase generating a 3 fold power
increase)
It
is diminishing returns. For each extra bar of pressure a lesser
gain in power is achieved.
The
first bar increment achieves the biggest power increase.
My
suggestion is that, for our boating needs, we should have a few
bar, use helium and
maybe
have two cylinders. The cylinder swept volume is then another
option to “marry”
power
vs size, effort and complexity.
A
sufficiency of variety.
BUT!............. Make, MEASURE and modify.

The swept volume is 160 cc
